We want to be straightforward about how GimmeBlooms makes money so you can trust our recommendations.
The short version
Some links on GimmeBlooms — particularly in flower buy-lists and product recommendations — are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we'd plant in our own gardens. Affiliate revenue helps keep GimmeBlooms free.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a regular link to a merchant's product page that carries a tracking code identifying GimmeBlooms as the referrer. If you complete a purchase within the merchant's tracking window (usually 24 hours to 60 days), the merchant pays us a percentage of the sale.
You pay the same price either way. The commission comes out of the merchant's margin, not your pocket.
Programs we participate in
We are (or are applying to become) affiliates of:
- Amazon Associates — As an Amazon Associate, GimmeBlooms earns from qualifying purchases.
- Burpee, Park Seed, Eden Brothers, Bluestone Perennials, White Flower Farm, Botanical Interests, Johnny's Selected Seeds, High Country Gardens, and similar seed and plant retailers.
- Affiliate networks: ShareASale, Impact, CJ Affiliate, Awin, Refersion — gateway programs that connect us to dozens of garden brands.
Programs are added or removed periodically. The participation list above is current as of April 26, 2026.
Our editorial commitment
- We recommend plants based on what fits your zone, sun, and palette — not based on which merchant pays us more.
- The bed-design algorithm picks species from our 150-flower curated library. Inclusion in the library is based on horticultural merit (zone hardiness, bloom value, pollinator support), not on whether a merchant pays a commission.
- When we link to a specific merchant for a buy-list, we choose merchants we'd buy from ourselves. If a non-affiliate merchant has clearly better quality or price, we'll say so.
- If a recommendation is sponsored (paid for above the standard affiliate commission), we will explicitly label it "Sponsored". We have no sponsored content as of the date above.

Cookies set by merchants
When you click an affiliate link, the destination merchant typically sets a cookie in your browser to track the referral. We do not control those cookies — they are governed by the merchant's privacy policy. You can clear them at any time via your browser settings.
