1. The service
GimmeBlooms is a flower-bed-planning tool. We use a rule-based algorithm (currently) and your inputs (ZIP code, sun exposure, color preferences) to generate flower bed designs, planting calendars, and weekly reminders. We also provide editorial content about flowers and USDA hardiness zones.
2. Accounts
- You must be 13 years or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One person, one account. Don't share accounts.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose.
- Scrape, crawl, or copy the site at scale without written permission. (Robots.txt-respecting search engines are welcome; bulk data harvesting is not.)
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the bed-generation algorithm or extract our flower database.
- Send spam, phishing, or malicious content via any GimmeBlooms feature.
- Interfere with the operation of the service or other users' experience.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.
4. Garden advice — important disclaimer
GimmeBlooms is a planning tool, not a substitute for professional landscape design or horticultural advice. Real-world gardening outcomes depend on factors we cannot predict — your specific microclimate, soil, rainfall, sun exposure changes through the season, pests, animals, weather events, and how well plants are cared for.
Plant data is aggregated from public horticultural sources (USDA PLANTS, USA-NPN, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Missouri Botanical Garden, NWF Native Plant Finder, Audubon Native Plants, and university extension sources) and is provided for informational purposes. Always verify plant safety with your local extension service before planting around children, pets, or livestock — some plants are toxic if consumed.
We do not guarantee that any specific bed plan will succeed in your garden. Use the service as a starting point, not as the final word.
5. Intellectual property
- The site, brand, code, and content are owned by GimmeBlooms (or licensed to us). You may not reproduce or redistribute them without permission.
- Beds you create are yours. You may export, share, or print them however you like.
- Some flower SVGs are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licenses (e.g., the rose silhouette by Syafa Studio, CC BY 3.0). See our sources page for full attribution.
6. Affiliate links
Some links on the site (especially in flower buy-lists) are affiliate links. We may earn a small commission when you make a purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
7. Pricing and free tier
GimmeBlooms is currently free during launch. A paid Pro tier is planned. We will notify all users in advance before any paid features are required. Existing free-tier features will remain free for users who signed up before the Pro launch.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties — express or implied — about the service's reliability, availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, GimmeBlooms is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or garden outcomes — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $0 if you used only the free tier).
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GimmeBlooms from claims arising out of your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms. We'll give reasonable notice unless violation is severe (security, abuse).
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notice or email. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fairfax County, Virginia. (If you operate in a different jurisdiction, please consult an attorney.)
